VALCENT COUTURE
A Fashion and Costume creative production company with a portfolio that spans theatrical, stage costumes, custom design, sewing, styling, and graphic design. Some of our recent and notable work has been designing, sewing, and styling Calypsonians and Soca Artiste for the big stage from TC Brown to Mystic, Kisha Kay, and Pablo. Also, developing creative concepts for clients according to their needs from logos, to campaign flyers, and developing aesthetics for theatrical productions for scenery and bringing the play to life, through costume design, and development and maintenance. The brand is named after the founder’s maternal family name, and Couture meaning one-of-a-kind design after her style of creating only unique pieces.
Meet the Founding Artistic Director - Andra Wilfred-Valcent
Andra Wilfred-Valcent is the Founding Artistic Director of Valcent Couture, born and raised in Blanchard Desruissuex. A past student of Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, she considers herself to be a true artist. She credits her family, friends, and school life for supporting her creative endeavors as a seamstress, designer, and visual artist. At Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, she was one of the founding members of the SALCC Arts Club where Andra was the lead of Fashion and Design, going on to plan several fashion shows, also designing and sewing for the runway.
She continued designing and sewing making contributions for seasonal observances like Independence and Jounen Creole and custom orders. Ms. Valcent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and has worked in supervisory and managerial positions in marketing, e-commerce, inventory, and production. She is a certified marketer and graphic designer. She can be called a “creative vision developer”, taking an idea or thought and bringing it to life through her many talents and vast capacity.
Andra continues to spread her wings and has made notable contributions as a costume designer and stylist for the Carnival season and for theatrical productions as a costume mistress and production manager. She took part in the Export Saint Lucia “Export the Runway 2022” releasing her first collection ‘Retro Caribbean” with one of her pieces being selected to showcase at the Caribbean International Fashion Week 2023. Her aspirations include designing runways in Paris, London, New York, stage costumes for performers, and the Met Gala.
